The South of Antwerp (Het Zuid & Nieuw Zuid)

Stroll through a neighborhood that boasts both 19th-century splendor and phenomenal modern architecture

Het Zuid is one of the liveliest neighborhoods of Antwerp. It’s a hotspot for locals and tourists looking for good restaurants, cool cafes, and cool shops. But it is also a neighborhood with many architectural highlights. The eye-catcher of the area is the beautiful building of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. Our tour starts here. Then, we explore charming streets with beautiful mansions and visit, among other things, the new Palace of Justice, a pearl of contemporary architecture. We walk along old docks and through the ‘neighborhood of the future’: Nieuw Zuid. We end our tour on the renovated Scheldt quays, where we enjoy a magnificent view over the river.
