Guided school tour ‘Historical Antwerp’
A tailor-made tour for students along beautiful historical buildings with a fascinating history.
On this tour, we immerse students in the rich history of Antwerp. We take them on a discovery tour of Antwerp’s highlights, such as the Grote Markt with the City Hall, the Cathedral of Our Lady, the Vleeshuis, and the picturesque Vlaeykensgang. The tour also takes you to beautiful places around Meir to end in beauty at Central Station.
A lot of history is covered during this walk. The emphasis is on the 16th to the 20th century. This is the period of Antwerp’s ‘golden age’: the economic stagnation after the fall of Antwerp and the revival of port activities. Besides facts about the city and its past, there is plenty of attention to fascinating legends and memorable stories.
